The tinker section of our makerspace opened this week with a bang. We left two computers boxes on the bench on Wednesday and when we returned from our lunch break (Mr McKnee runs QBSS Makerspace during Wednesday lunch) to find the computers completely pulled apart.

It was fascinating to see the student reactions to our new area. After a few Digital Technologies lessons, we could see that we would need a permanent place for our tinker area away from the main lesson area as they were hard to walk past without exploring further. The tinker station is now down at the back wall where we can safely leave the boxes each session without the need to pack away.

Students have already started suggesting items they could bring in from home so we can open them up and see how they work.
