For our 5-6 assessment in 2016, our students needed to create a maze game using Scratch. I was VERY new to Scratch and was intimidated by the thought of doing it.
To overcome my fear I created my own maze game with a lot of help from my tech friends. (Broadcast block – dial a friend question) This game will continue to evolve as I learn new things and go back to improve it.
How will I use it in 2017? This year, students will create my game using code given to them. We will use the collaborative approach with my game to check code and give feedback using apps like Explain Everything.
Students will then use the design process to create their own game in teams to solve a social issue.
